Lopez-Castro concentrates her practice on bankruptcy, receiverships, and commercial litigation matters. Her practice reflects her extensive experience and expertise with bankruptcy reorganizations and liquidations, receiverships, debt restructuring, and creditors’ rights. Her community and professional involvement includes being elected to serve from 2006-2007 as the second woman president of the Cuban American Bar Association, an organization with which she has been actively involved for over 20 years.

Sheryl Magerer Tropin appointed Chair of

Tropin, an avid community advocate and philanthropist who has been deeply involved with the organization for several years, began her one-year term on June 2. As chair, Tropin plans to focus the efforts of the board on this year’s capital campaign which will grow the organization’s programming and events outreach, as well as increase awareness of the organization and its mission in the community.

Harley Tropin Honored with American Jewish Committee’s 2016 Judge Learned Hand Award

Nearly 400 legal, business and community leaders attended the gala dinner at Jungle Island. AJC established the annual award in 1964 to recognize leaders in the legal profession for their excellence and contributions to the practice of law and the community at large.

Harley Tropin to be Honored with American Jewish Committee’s 2016 Judge Learned Hand Award

The highest honor given by AJC within the legal profession, the Judge Learned Hand Award recognizes the memory of Judge Learned Hand, noted for his significant decisions in constitutional law and anti-trust. The recipients of this award are people who embody much of what the judge represented: the rights of the individual and the importance of democratic values in an orderly society. 

Inaugural Shatter the Stigma event raises money to help South Floridians affected by Mental Illness

The event was hosted by the de la Cruz family and underwritten by Harley and Sherry Tropin. During the event, Tropin, president of Kozyak Tropin Throckmorton and honorary chair of the event, spoke about the need to remove the stigma to make it easier for people to seek help, and to obtain funding for mental health research.
