Biography

David A. Samole is a shareholder at Kozyak Tropin & Throckmorton. David’s practice focuses on bankruptcy and creditor rights matters.  He handles corporate reorganizations, liquidations, bankruptcy-related litigation, workouts and financially distressed transactions representing debtors, creditors, committees, trustees and related parties, including principals, guarantors and Section 363 asset purchasers.

David frequently represents the firm’s clients as commercial landlords, creditor committees, lenders and other types of creditors in contested Chapter 11 proceedings.  He also handles many of the firm’s more complex trustee matters, in addition to the firm’s clients facing potential exposure for avoidable transfers under the Bankruptcy Code.  In addition, David represents Chapter 11 debtors, principals, guarantors and Section 363 asset purchasers.  He also handles bankruptcy appeals along with others in the firm.

Prior to joining the firm, David served as Law Clerk to the Honorable Robert A. Mark, Chief Bankruptcy Judge for the Southern District of Florida and Law Clerk to the Honorable Barry S. Schermer, Bankruptcy Judge for the Eastern District of Missouri. David obtained a B.A. from the University of Chicago and a J.D. from Washington University School of Law, where he served as Articles and Notes Editor for the Washington University Law Review and received the Scholar in Law Award.
