Biography

Gail A. McQuilkin is a shareholder in Kozyak Tropin & Throckmorton and the firm’s managing shareholder from 2005 through 2006. Concentrating primarily on complex commercial litigation, Ms. McQuilkin’s practice encompasses intellectual property, Internet technology litigation, executive compensation and employment law disputes, construction litigation, class actions, antitrust, and torts. She is experienced in trial work on both the federal and state level and handles related appellate matters.

Ms. McQuilkin also has extensive experience in intellectual property licensing, drafting employment contracts and restrictive covenants, severance agreements, and development of trademark and trade secrets policies, and procedures for public and private companies.

She is active in the International Trademark Association, where she has served on numerous committees. In addition, Ms. McQuilkin is a member of the Board of Directors of Coral Gables Bar Association, a Trustee of the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce, and an officer and director of the Florida Association of Managing Partners.

Ms. McQuilkin earned her J.D. degree, cum laude, in 1992 from the University of Miami School of Law, where she wrote for the Law Review, and her M.B.A. cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Business in 1983. She worked as a law intern for former U.S. District Court Judge Thomas Scott.
